TapeAlert
Stop missing Tape automation errors
When you’re running business-critical automations in Tape, the question isn’t if something will fail — it’s when.
And when that happens, you need to know about it immediately.
TapeAlert takes the pain out of error monitoring by catching Tape automation errors and turning them into clear, actionable alerts.
Why TapeAlert?
Normally, setting up error notifications in Tape means:
- Configuring error webhooks manually
- Running
cURL
commands to test them - Deciding where to send the notifications (and avoiding loops if they go back into Tape)
It works, but it’s fiddly — and most people never quite get around to doing it properly.
TapeAlert removes all that friction. In just a couple of minutes, you’ll have robust error monitoring in place.
What it does
TapeAlert listens for automation error webhooks from Tape and sends alerts to your preferred channel:
- ✅ Google Spaces
- ✅ Microsoft Teams
- ✅ Mattermost
- ✅ Linear (auto-creates issues)
- ✅ Webhook forwarding
Each alert includes:
- The original error message
- A direct link to the failing automation
- Contextual info to help you debug faster
No more guessing. No more missed errors.
Who’s it for?
- Partners managing multiple Tape organisations → Know instantly if something breaks.
- Teams relying on automations → Keep workflows reliable and spot issues early.
- Anyone running Tape automations → Get peace of mind without fiddly setup.
Pricing
TapeAlert is offered on a “pay what you want” model.
It’s free to use — but if it saves you time or hassle, you can support the project by contributing what you feel it’s worth.
Get started
Setup takes just a few minutes. TapeAlert will guide you through adding your Tape API key (stored encrypted) and connecting your preferred notification channel.
🔒 Concerned about API keys?
You can rotate your Tape API key immediately after setup. If you later return and the key is invalid, TapeAlert will simply prompt you to re-enter it.
Why we built it
TapeAlert started as a quick solution for a Partner who asked:
“How do we know if something fails?”
After building the first version in a few hours, it became clear this was a problem many people shared. So we expanded it into a service anyone can use.
Now, whether you’re managing one organisation or twenty, TapeAlert keeps you in the loop.
